Perfect Draw! Prototype PDF - Version 1.7 Released

Hey everyone! Nora again!
We're quickly approaching the final version of the Perfect Draw! PDF and that means we're only a couple updates away from getting to work on printing and sending out the physical versions of the book.
The Pledge Manager & Preorder Store to Close in One Week
To finalize some of the content in the book (such as the backer credits), we need to close and finalize the Pledge Manager and Preorder Store. In about a week from now, you'll receive an email letting you know the Pledge Manager will be closing in two days. After this one week period, you'll no longer have the chance to edit the name in the credits, modify your pledge, or change your address. Additionally, 10% of people haven't completed their backer survey - if this includes you, then failing to complete the survey in time could result in either your name not being included in the final book or possibly your book not being delivered at all if you made a physical pledge.
Changes in 1.7 of the Prototype PDF
In each update where we release a new version of the Prototype PDF, we'll be including a changelog so you know what you need to check if you've already read through the whole book:
- Various typos, formatting, and inconsistencies fixed.
- 2 new Champion Tier encounters have been added.
- Dummy pages have been added for the two remaining Champion Tier and one remaining Guest encounter still to be added to the book.
- NPC Encounters have all been properly formatted and ordered to match alphabetical order of their decks.
- Page numbers have been added and fixed to all locations where they were not yet included.
- In-PDF linking has been added to the Chapters and People of Shuffle City, as well as any other sections of the book that reference a specific page number.
- Out-of-PDF linking has been added to sections referencing downloadable resources and tools available on Itch.io
- Card Assets have been added to the "Printables & Form-Fillables" File

What's Next for Perfect Draw!
While this was a relatively lighter update compared to some of the other recent updates, that's mostly a result of us being nearly done! The version of the book you see in this update should be almost identical to the version you find in the final update - with the main difference being the inclusion of the three missing encounters that currently aren't in the Prototype PDF.
Once that's done, our main goal will be making sure people get the physical versions of their book and plugging away at the Booster Pack Expansion. This is all to say that even though the core book is nearly released, there's still a lot to look forward too with the future of
Perfect Draw! Our current plans are to release Booster Pack updates monthly so we can have more time to playtest content and make any changes that need to be made. You can expect to see the next version of the Booster Pack alongside the next Prototype PDF update in two weeks.
Speaking of, Thunderderder completed the art for The Lovestruck between last update and today, so we can finally share it here!
With any luck, we'll have art for The Facade ready before next update - but if you're interested seeing the last few arts early, we share them on the Discord as soon as we get our hands on them.

HOTFIX: Broken PDF File

Hi Everyone,
Compressing the PDF file for the core book in the new update has caused some fairly significant visual errors and missing content. I'm working on exporting all files again, which should resolve all errors.
Please keep an eye out in your inboxes for a new download file with the fixed PDF.

Hey y'all!
It's that time again for us to show you the updates to the Prototype PDF! We've done a lot of exciting work, but before we go any further, I want to make a few important announcements.
Pledge Manager & Preorder Store to Close in Three Weeks
We're rapidly approaching the final release of Perfect Draw!, and we wanted to make sure you had plenty of time to finalise your Pledge Manager before we close it off. After this three week period, you'll no longer have the chance to edit the name in the credits, modify your pledge, or change your address. Additionally, 13% of people haven't completed their backer survey - if this includes you, then failing to complete the survey in time could result in either your name not being included in the final book or possibly your book not being delivered at all if you made a physical pledge.
Two weeks from now, when we release the next Prototype PDF, we'll give you another warning - but please be sure to complete your details as soon as possible and update your shipping information if it's likely to change before then.
With that all said, let's get into the changes you can find in the new version of the Prototype PDF.
Changes in 1.6 of the Prototype PDF
In each update where we release a new version of the Prototype PDF, we'll be including a changelog so you know what you need to check if you've already read through the whole book:
- Various typos, formatting, and inconsistencies fixed.
- 2 new Guest Encounters have been added. (Millennium Blades and Riley L. Hopkins)
- 1 new Champion Tier Encounter has been added.
- Champion Tier and Guest Encounters have had their formatting modified to look more stylish and be more clearly differentiated from the content developed exclusively by Double Summon Games.
- The "People of Shuffle City" encounter list has been given explainers for each of the categories.
- The "Percival Blanchett" NPC Encounter has been removed from the core book and replaced by "Crew of the Black Lotus" to better represent each of the bosses. (Percival will now be a part of the Booster Pack expansion.)
- Some effects with {Piercer} have been modified to more appropriately cost them if they're likely to win clashes.
- The amount of Advantage and Response Moves you gain in team fights has been updated to better balance encounters.
- The kinds of effects you can Counter using Response Moves and Counter My Opponent's Play has been further clarified.
- NPC Playmats and Printable Tokens have been included in the "Printables & Form Fillables" file.
- A playtest version of the Booster Pack expansion for Perfect Draw! has been added to your download file. (Please note that this will be updated less frequently then the Prototype PDF.)
- This playtest document includes a test version of:
- New Keywords
- 27 New Premade Cards
- 3 New Playbooks:
- The Mentor
- The Other Me
- The Lovestruck
- 6 New NPC Encounters (Including three Boss Encounters)

Hey y'all!
I hope you're all having fun with Perfect Draw!. We've been doing a lot of work behind the scenes and while we can't share most of it, a lot of it we can!
PLEASE REMEMBER: If you haven't finished your pledge manager survey yet, please do! You'll only get access to the Prototype PDF once you've completed that survey, and while there's still at least a month or two before we actually start shipping - every backer that does it now makes it easier for us to get production going as smoothly as possible.

- Certain NPC encounters have been turned into "boss encounters" and are now two-page spreads.
- 5 New Champion Tier Encounters added.
- Some premade cards have had their costing text reworked to be clearer.
- Some NPC encounters have had their effects renamed or slightly altered for thematic reasons.
- Player Playmats added to the "Printables" folder

What Else is Happening in the World of Perfect Draw!
If you compare this update's progress chart with last update, you'll notice that we've made substantial progress on the Champion Tier encounters and Booster Pack content. We're hoping to give you all a preview of the Booster Pack in the next Prototype PDF update, but for now, we can't make any promises. With that said, one thing we can share is the stunning new art by Thunderderder for some of the new playbooks we've been working on. Check out the art for The Mentor and The Other Me here:
I'll also note that we shared the Playmat on the Discord earlier and in response, many fans have been hard at work making some incredibly high quality tools for playing
Perfect Draw! in Tabletop Simulator. If you have TTS, this is a great way to play!

Millenium Blades -Again- Is Live!!!

Hey y'all!
Our friends at Level 99 Games have launched
their new Kickstarter for Millennium Blades -Again-! If you're a fan of TCGs, I highly recommend taking this chance to nab the game while it's having a full-scale reprint!
If you haven't heard of Millennium Blades before, I think it's best described as a celebration of Trading Card Games as a whole! During the first stage of the game you'll work to buy packs, trade with other players, and complete collections so you can get your deck ready for the upcoming tournament! Winning means being skilled at creating a good deck, leveraging the meta-game, and having the tactical prowess to know what the best move is at any moment! Overall the game is a joy for anyone with a love for TCGs, and if that's you, I'd be a crime to miss out on this chance - so grab it while you can!
If you've been following along with news about
Perfect Draw! you'd also know that the core book is going to include a guest encounter from the Millennium Blades universe! We don't have enough details to share anything for the time being - but keep an eye out during the next couple updates! We'll be sure to share more as soon as we can.
